Mentor2Youth

m2y

Mentor2Youth was started in 2011 based on an idea developed for a research project at Michigan State University. The research revolved around how a mentoring program would impact students’ academic performance and behavioral conduct. Based on positive results, the research project was developed into a non-profit. Mentor2Youth has served 500+ youth since that day and now holds 5-6 programs throughout the school and summer periods working with an average of 140-165 youth ages 8-18 throughout Washtenaw County emphasizing the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area. We support and empower youth in life, academics and work.

Mentor2Youth is currently looking for professionals to come speak about their career with our young boys and girls! We will be facilitating to leadership academies starting July 5th through August 18th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3pm. We are asking for 20min of your time to provide insight and inspire a young child to want to join YOU in your career field one day. If you are interested in learning how you can come speak to our youth; please email emmanuel.jones@mentor2youth.com. View our calendar online to learn more about other activities we will have taking place this summer.

Nick Hutchinson, City of Ann Arbor- Leadership 2.0 Testimonial

“Over the course of the last few months, I have found the Leadership 2.0 program to be very enlightening and helpful in my job. As the manager of a department of approximately 35 City employees, it was valuable to hear from people who are proven business and community leaders. Even more valuable was the opportunity to dialogue with my peers in similar positions.”

-Nick Hutchinson, City Engineer, City of Ann Arbor

Speak So They Listen

speak so they listen

People want to speak so they are listened to and understood.   The truth is, many don’t know how.   I believe they can, (I’ve seen it) when they are taught practical, do-able, immediately applicable techniques in a fun and energizing SHORT training session.

By combining tried and true ways to speak so they listen.  By the end of the one or two hour session, participants leave energized and ready to use what they practiced.  It works in person, on the phone or via webinar.  Using the tools you can: connect better with people.  Clearly and confidently express even the most complex or technical ideas, products, and services to resonate and be remembered by your audience.

What are you waiting for?  Your employees to disengage? Another lost sale? Another Millennial to leave your company?  Jeneen McNally turns training on its side with fresh, energizing, do-able, immediately usable ways to communicate.

We just happen to teach you how to speak so you’re listened to and understood!

Mayniax Branding

FullSizeRender (10)

The world is broken, and we believe entrepreneurs are the only ones who can fix it. But they’ll never get that chance if no one cares about their brands. So, with a little bit o’ nuttiness, a little bit o’ research, and a lotta bit o’ guts, it’s our job to make people care.

On June 11, join us for “Building A Gutsy Brand.” We’ll begin by getting you on the path to finding your why, which is ultimately the foundation for a gutsy brand! Next, we’ll show you how to research your competition, branding-style! So be sure you have a laptop, tablet, or smartphone for that research. Or we’ll sick the rabid spider monkeys on ya! And no one likes the rabid spider monkeys.

Afterwards, there will be time to ask us questions, just as long as we have time to get our caffeine fix, first. Because we need our caffeine fix.

We can’t wait to see ya there!

DTE Energy helps your business, environment with BioGreenGas

DTE Energy BioGreenGasDTE Energy has long served Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti with natural gas and electricity, but has also been a leading corporate citizen as the communities have grown and prospered. DTE has a sharp focus on environmental stewardship in all of its operations, and provides products and services that are targeted to serve its business customers’ needs.

One of those programs is BioGreenGas, DTE Energy’s voluntary renewable natural gas program which supports the local development of renewable natural gas by using the methane that arises naturally from landfills.

As organic matter decays in landfills, methane escapes into the atmosphere as a greenhouse gas. Capturing methane and removing the impurities creates a renewable source of pipeline quality natural gas with environmental benefits. DTE is leading the nation with this renewable energy program.

As a business, you can join the BioGreenGas program to support efforts to create a cleaner, more sustainable Michigan. For $2.50 per month you can participate in the BioGreenGas program and join others in supporting renewable energy development.

BioGreenGas member benefits include:

  • Demonstration of your environmental commitment in the community
  • Goodwill created with your customer base and the attraction of new customers interested in environmentally friendly initiatives
  • A Welcome Kit with valuable tools to help leverage your participation with your customers
  • A potential positive return on your investment
