Member Spotlight: Joseph Sefcovic with the Holiday Inn – Near the University of Michigan

IMG_9323-(1)Joe Sefcovic graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1988 with a Bachelors Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Joe earned his Certified Hotel Administrator Certification in 1999 from the American Hotel and Lodging Association. He is an active board member of Ann Arbor Area Conventions and Visitor’s Bureau and past Chairman of the Board in 2009. Currently, he is the president of the Washtenaw County Hotel Association, and sits on the Advisory Board for the Eastern Michigan University Hotel School and the Accommodation Ordinance Commission board for Washtenaw County.

Joe has worked at ten hotels in six states in his hospitality career, which spans over 25 years. He has worked in hotels ranging in size from 119 rooms to over 1,500 rooms. He has worked for six major hotel brands, including five different Holiday Inns. Joe has accumulated over 20 years of service to the Holiday Inn brand.

Joe assumed his roll as General Manager of the Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan in May of 2005. Since that time, he has renamed the hotel and overseen numerous remodeling projects including the marvelous five million dollar transformation. As a hospitality professional, Joe believes that outstanding guest service is the most important thing a hotel can offer. In 2008 he spearheaded an effort to become Ann Arbor’s friendliest hotel. Since then the Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan has earned its Green Lodging Certification from the Michigan Department of Energy in July of 2010.

Joe currently resides in Monroe, MI with his wife and son.

Member Spotlight: Renue Physical Therapy

AJ-(1)A.J. Grzesiak, PT, DPT, OCS is a 2005 graduate of Central Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in psychology. A.J. then went on to the University of Pittsburgh for his graduate studies receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree in 2008. A.J. worked for 4 years in an outpatient physical therapy clinic in Lexington, KY prior to moving back home to Michigan to become a partner with Renue Physical Therapy.

A.J.’s philosophy in physical therapy includes a patient centered model of one on one care incorporating a hands-on, manual therapy based approach and the current best evidence for practice. A.J. is an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association’s Board of Clinical Specialties. A.J. treats a wide variety of outpatient orthopedic and musculoskeletal disorders including but not limited to neck and back pain, extremity pain, post-operative rehab, sports injuries, whiplash associated disorder, worker’s compensation injuries, chronic pain issues, gait dysfunctions, vestibular disorders, balance issues and fall prevention.

Faye Molitor-Co-Owns the business and is the Director of Operations. Having cared for both of her parents thru end of life understands the importance of the services that Senior Helpers provides and is passionate about helping others. Faye manages our office staff, assesses clients and works with caregivers. In addition sits on the Board of Directors for the Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels and is involved with the Washtenaw County Elder Abuse Coalition.

As the Co-Owner and Client Service Director she works with community partners on educating the public about services for Senior’s. Sheila enjoys talking with families of prospective clients, helping them find resources and providing quality care. Sheila has worked with the aging population for over 20 years and in addition has cared for elderly family members as well. This has helped her to identify a number of key issues families caring for a loved one deal with every day.
Sheila sits on the Board of Directors for The Michigan Association for Home Care and Chairs of their Private Duty Committee. She has A Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University in Health Administration.

He has years of experience in business, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, real estate, family and municipal law. John is a mediator in civil and family law cases. In additional to his general practice, he represents municipalities including the City of Ypsilanti, and Lodi Township.

John holds the highest attorney peer review rating of “A-V” from Martindale Hubble, is listed as a “Super Lawyer” by Law and Politics since 2006, and is one of the “Top Attorneys in Michigan” as published in Crain’s Detroit Business. John has been listed in “Who’s Who in the Law,” “Who’s Who in the Midwest,” and “Who’s Who in America.”

John received his BA from MSU and his law degree from the U of M Law School. He participates in state and local bar activities and is a past State Bar commissioner and past president of the Washtenaw County Bar Association. He has received numerous awards including the Chamber “Distinguished Service Award in 2013. Some of his community activities include serving as an Ypsilanti District Library board member and working with the Michigan Municipal League and Boy Scouts.
