John is the senior attorney at the law firm of Barr, Anhut & Associates, P.C. He has years of experience in business, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, real estate, family and municipal law. John is a mediator in civil and family law cases. In additional to his general practice, he represents municipalities including the City of Ypsilanti, and Lodi Township.

John holds the highest attorney peer review rating of “A-V” from Martindale Hubble, is listed as a “Super Lawyer” by Law and Politics since 2006, and is one of the “Top Attorneys in Michigan” as published in Crain’s Detroit Business. John has been listed in “Who’s Who in the Law,” “Who’s Who in the Midwest,” and “Who’s Who in America.”

John received his BA from MSU and his law degree from the U of M Law School. He participates in state and local bar activities and is a past State Bar commissioner and past president of the Washtenaw County Bar Association. He has received numerous awards including the Chamber “Distinguished Service Award in 2013. Some of his community activities include serving as an Ypsilanti District Library board member and working with the Michigan Municipal League and Boy Scouts.
