The Junior League of Ann Arbor

The Junior League of Ann Arbor (JLAA) is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

Celebrating 35 years of community leadership this year, the JLAA has contributed more than 375,000 volunteer hours working directly in the community. The organization directs a variety of projects including:

  • Women in Leadership: an evening of speakers who share tips, strategies, and personal anecdotes about how to grow and thrive as leaders in our careers and communities.
  • Strong Moms Strong Girls: a program addressing the challenges of relational aggression. The goal of the program is to familiarize parents, educators, and caregivers with the uniqueness and intricacies of relational aggression.
  • Kids in the Kitchen: a national program which addresses the growing issue of childhood obesity through creative, interactive workshops aimed for children from pre-K through middle school. JLAA collaborates with their esteemed community partner, The Ann Arbor Hands on Museum, to provide workshops promoting healthy eating and lifestyles throughout the year.
